Answers to Your Questions about Middle Bay Fishing Charters

​What kind of boat do you have?

We'll be going out in a 22' Pathfinder with Yamaha 200.  It's safe, reliable, comfortable and has plenty of get up and go!

What's included in the charter?

I want to make this easy and enjoyable for you! Middle Bay Fishing Charters provides:

  • Fishing license

  • Bait- live and artificial 

  • Rod and reels

  • Tackle

  • Ice

  • Fish cleaning

What should I bring?

You're welcome to bring your own fishing gear if you'd like, but it's not necessary.  Please, however, make sure you  bring:

  • Snacks

  • Drinks (we'll have a cooler on-board)

  • Sunscreen/hat

  • A cooler to take home your catch!

Do you have gift certificates?

​Absolutely!  A gift certificate is perfect for birthdays, Christmas, even your anniversary!  You can elect to purchase a 4-hour, 6-hour, or scenic cruise (great for Valentine's Day!) or just put any amount toward a charter.

Can I bring my kids?

​Absolutely!  Kids are welcome and we have several child-size PFDs.  If you plan on bringing your kids, please tell me beforehand so we can plan accordingly.

Where do we leave from?

This will depend upon where you're staying, what we're fishing for, and the time of the year.  When booking your charter, we'll talk to pick one of the below launches.  They're all easy to get to and have ample parking.

How long have you been doing this?

​I have been fishing the Mobile Bay and surrounding waters for over 30 years, and have been a USCG licensed captain for 14 years.

​I've never fished before!

​That's okay!  I love taking first-timers out and seeing them land their first fish.  It'll be fun and you'll be amazed at what beginners luck can bring!

What about payments?

We accept cash, checks, and credit cards.

If there is bad weather, we can reschedule for another day/time.  However I ask for 24-hours notice in case of cancellation.  

Why Middle Bay?

Middle Bay Fishing Charters is named for the famous lighthouse that's situated in the center of Mobile Bay, Middle Bay Light.  The hexagonal shaped, cottage-style lighthouse was built in 1885.  You can learn more about the lighthouse history and how a cow was kept at the lighthouse here.
